Groote Post extends its popular offerings to a monthly country market

Country hospitality on your doorstep on the last Sunday of every month between 10h00 and 15h00

Take a break, round up the family and head out to the country to join the Pentz family in the gardens at Groote Post for their first country market on Sunday 31st August.

The terrace in front of Hilda’s Kitchen and adjacent to the Cellar will be a hive of activity, brimming with delicious and beautiful country offerings. Guests can expect artisan foods, arts and crafts, home ware and décor, live entertainment, lots of fun activities for kids, and of course, Groote Post’s well-loved wines. Local is lekker with locals presenting a divine selection of Darling gourmet produce including mushrooms, burgers, breads, cheese, cured meats, olive oils, preserves and much more – to enjoy at the market or take home. A highlight of the day at the first market on 31st August will be a cooking demonstration by Leroux van Vuuren from the Kokkedoor TV Show, which will include a revised recipe from Hildagonda Duckitt (Groote Post’s very own ‘Grande Dame of Cape Cuisine’), as well as something West Coast inspired. Kids will love the rolling lawns, playground, tractor trips and guided horse rides. All Groote Post’s wines will be available for tasting and purchase by the glass, bottle or case. As a special treat, Nick Pentz and winemaker Lukas Wentzel will be launching a Groote Post Rosé made exclusively for the farm’s monthly market visitors.

Groote Post’s award-winning restaurant will be open as usual and visitors will also have the opportunity of going on a farm drive through the game camp and vineyards in Groote Post’s bona fide game vehicle.

The Groote Post Country Market is being organized by the vibrant ladies from I Love Yzer who publish a local magazine in print and online and arrange a number of successful events in the area.

Entry to the Groote Post Country Market is free of charge.

Groote Post Country Market dates: 31 August, 28 September, 26 October, 30 November and 28 December

Groote Post Country Market opening hours: 10h00 to 15h00
